The Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with its visa systems.  This issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category.  We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability.

Applications for a U.S. visa made after June 8, 2015, are also affected by this delay.  Nonimmigrant visa applicants who did not submit their DS-160 online application prior to June 9, 2015, should reschedule their interview appointments.  Individuals with urgent travel should follow the instructions for expedited emergency appointment found on this website.

Applicants should NEVER purchase tickets prior to receipt of their passport with visa. We cannot expedite the pick-up of visas on the basis of pre-purchased tickets. The TNT pick-up location or home delivery address can be changed at any time prior to 11:59 p.m. on the day before the interview at the Embassy.

If you experience problems completing the DS-160 form, please check the information available at: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/forms/ds-160--online-nonimmigrant-visa-application/frequently-asked-questions.html or write to: niv_sofia@state.gov. The call center agents are unable to answer any questions or provide guidance on this process.

Dear Consular section clients, please be advised that our regular pick-up/drop-off service between 4:00- 4:30 p.m. at the main entrance will be closed on June 19, July 1 and July 3, 2015. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
