ATTENTION: NEW SCHEDULING PROCEDURES AT THE UNITED STATES EMBASSY IN JAKARTA

The United States Embassy in Jakarta now has two interview appointment times per day – 7:00am and 9:00am.

If your appointment is for 07:00, you are in Group A. You must be at the Embassy between 06:30 and 08:30. Please do not arrive at the Embassy before 06:30. If you arrive at the Embassy after 08:30, you will not be interviewed and you will have to reschedule your appointment.

If your appointment is for 09:00, you are in Group B. You must be at the Embassy between 08:30 and 10:30. Please do not arrive at the Embassy before 08:30. If you arrive at the Embassy after 10:30, you will not be interviewed and you will have to reschedule your appointment.

Overview

Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a visa, either a nonimmigrant visa for temporary stay or an immigrant visa for permanent residence. Citizens of qualified countries may be also able to visit the U.S. without a visa under the Visa Waiver Program. If you do not qualify for the Visa Waiver Program or are traveling to study, work, or participate in an exchange program, you must apply for a nonimmigrant visa.

Applicants for U.S. visas are required to appear in person for a visa interview at the Embassy in Jakarta or the Consulate General in Surabaya. You must schedule an appointment for that interview, either online using this website or through the call center.

Supporting Documents

To schedule a nonimmigrant visa appointment, you must have the following information and documents available:

  • A passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions). If more than one person is included in your passport, each person desiring a visa must submit an application.
  • Your visa application fee payment receipt from Standard Chartered Bank or Permata Bank
  • Your DS-160 confirmation page. The DS-160 confirmation must be printed on letter size or A4 paper in portrait format only. Applications with confirmation pages in any other paper sizes or formats will not be accepted at the intake window and the applicants will be asked to reprint their confirmations before proceeding.
  • Your e-mail address
  • If applicable, required documents based on visa class (such as a petition approval for petition-based visas; more information about visa types and information about each can be found here).
Changing Appointments

Applicants are permitted to reschedule their appointments no more than three times. Please plan accordingly so that you are not required to make another visa application fee.
