If you are a citizen of a Visa Waiver Program partner but unable to travel to the United States under that program, you should apply for a nonimmigrant visa at least three months in advance of your desired travel. If you do not have imminent travel plans, you should pay the nonimmigrant visa application fee, fill out the DS-160 nonimmigrant visa application form at ceac.state.gov/genniv/, and schedule a visa appointment. If your travel is imminent, you may also request an expedited visa appointment. Please include in your request the date and purpose of your travel, as well as a copy of any U.S. Customs and Border Protection message you may have received regarding your ESTA status.
More information about restrictions to travel under the Visa Waiver Program, including the requirement for an electronic passport, is available at https://travel.state.gov/conte

PASSPORT/VISA COLLECTION LOCATIONS:
Once your non-immigrant visa is approved, your passport will be ready for either pick-up or delivery three business days later. The passport can be picked up at the courier office you provided when you scheduled your appointment, or it will be delivered to your home or office if that is what you requested. For example, if your interview was on a Monday, your passport with the new visa should be available on Thursday. If there is a delay with your visa, you will be notified directly by the Embassy.
If you applied for a K1 visa or an Immigrant Visa, your passport will be ready for pick-up or delivery five business days after the date of approval at the address/location you specified when you registered your profile with us. We will notify you if there is a delay.
In accordance with the agreement signed between the United States and China to extend visa validity, beginning in November 2016, Chinese citizens with 10-year B1, B2 or B1/B2 visas in Peoples’ Republic of China passports will be required to update their biographical and other information from their visa application via a website every two years, or upon getting a new passport, whichever occurs first. This mechanism will be called EVUS - Electronic Visa Update System.
You do not need to take any action until the EVUS online update system becomes available in November 2016. The Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will keep visa holders informed of new information throughout the year. For further information, please visit www.cbp.gov/EVUS.
Starting November 1, 2016, eye glasses will no longer be allowed in visa photos. For further details on photo requirements please visit:https://travel.state.gov/conte
