Apply for a Visa

Overview

Please confirm whether or not you need to apply for a visa.  If you are a Singapore national or a citizen of any other Visa Waiver Program participating country, or already hold a valid U.S. visa, you may not need to apply for a new U.S. visa

If you do need to apply for a nonimmigrant visa, please follow the steps below.

How to Apply for a Nonimmigrant Visa
    Step 1:

Pay the MRV application fee. (Payment help and fee information.)

    Step 2:

Complete the Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application (DS-160) form.

Note: It will take 4 hours from the time of purchase for your MRV fee receipt to be processed. Then you may proceed to step 3.

    Step 3:

No less than 4 hours after you pay your MRV application fee, you can return to this website to schedule your appointment. You will need to provide three pieces of information in order to schedule your appointment:

    • Your passport number
    • Your MRV fee payment receipt number
    • The ten (10) digit barcode number from your DS-160 confirmation page
    Step 4:

Visit the U.S. Embassy in Singapore on the date and time of your visa interview. You will need to bring a printed copy of your appointment letter, your DS-160 confirmation page, one recent photograph, your current and all old passports, and the original visa fee payment receipt. Applications without all of these items will not be accepted.

    Step 5:

Your passport and visa are returned to you by courier.

Note: Applicants under the age of 14 do not need to appear for an interview. Parents of children under the age of 14, however, are required to appear on behalf of their children. Children under the age of 14 who are not appearing in person for an interview may submit their application along with their parent's application. Even if the child is not required to appear for an interview, he/she must be physically present in the country where you are applying and at the time the interview takes place.
