Overview

The National Visa Center (NVC) schedules all immigrant visa appointments, with the exception of K visas, and I-130 petitions filed in Hong Kong.  Once NVC finishes processing a case, NVC will work with the U.S. Consulate to schedule an appointment.  As soon as an appointment is scheduled, NVC will forward the case to the U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong. NVC will also send the petitioner and/or the authorized agent an interview appointment letter.  K visa applicants, applicants whose petitions were filed locally, and applicants who missed their appointments scheduled by NVC can schedule their interview appointments per the instructions through our authorized U.S. Visa Information Services website.  These applicants should not schedule their appointments until after they have received an "Immigrant Visa Instructions" email from the U.S. Consulate, as you will not be able to access the schedule function through this website.

Please note that some visa categories are subject to numerical limitations. NVC will not schedule any cases that their priority dates are not current. Please refer to the Visa Bulletin for more information on visa availability.
