Nonimmigrant Visa Delivery Information

If your non-immigrant visa application is approved, you will receive your passport with the visa using Hungarian Postal Services.

For delivery of  your passport, please bring with you to your visa interview at the Embassy one empty self-addressed document envelope (at least size LC5 162 mm*229 mm) with pre-paid stamps for registered mail (stamp value HUF 1,890) from the Hungarian post office. The envelope must contain postal paper stamps indicating the exact value of the stamps. (Postal etikett is not accepted). 

If you already have a prepaid envelope like this („postakész”), you need to buy extra stamps for HUF 625, for the expedited and registered services  (elsőbbségi and tértivevény szolgáltatás).

When buying the empty prepaid envelope, please choose registered, advise of delivery and priority services (tértivevényes levél, ajánlott, elsőbbségi). For the current fees please check Magyar Posta Ltd. - Magyar Posta - Hungarian Post.

Please bring one envelope for each applicant, even if applying as a group or family.

Failure to provide the correct envelope at the time of your interview will cause significant delays in returning your passport with the visa.

Please provide a valid home address in Hungary for delivery. Your passport cannot be delivered for a foreign address.

Immigrant Visa Delivery Information (including K visas)

If your immigrant visa case is electronic (you had to upload your personal documents to the CEAC system) and if your immigrant visa application is approved, you will receive your passport with the visa using Hungarian Postal Services

If your immigrant visa is not electronic (paper-based), consular staff will inform you during the interview how you will receive your passport with the visa.

 

Delivery to the Embassy

Same rule applies to the delivery of your documents to the Embassy.

We strongly recommend sending your documents to the Embassy by registered mail (tértivevényes levél, ajánlott, elsőbbségi).

If you are expecting back your documents/passport from the Embassy, please include a self-addressed and pre-paid envelope according to the instructions above.

 

Check the Status of Your Visa

You can check the status of your application any time at this website:
https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx. Please wait at least three business days following your visa interview to check on the status of your application. The system may not have updated the status of your application prior to that time, and thus the message you receive may not reflect the actual status of your application.
