Beginning September 1, 2020 the drop off and pick-up to/ from Pony Express locations in Kazakhstan will be discontinued. Applicants whose documents are sent for pick up/ delivery by US Embassy/ Consulate on or after September 1, 2020, may collect them at U.S. Visa document delivery locations operated by VFS Global or in selected DHL locations, documents to home/ office delivery will be delivered by DHL courier company. For a full list of available locations see here. Passports which are not picked up from a Pony Express location before August 31, 2020 will be returned to the US Embassy/Consulate where the application was made. Overview

Once your visa is approved, VFS Global or DHL will either deliver your passport to the location you specified when you scheduled your appointment, or hold your passport at a VFS Global or DHL office for you to retrieve. There are no extra fees associated with either aspect of this service - the cost for VFS Global or DHL to deliver or hold your passport is included in the visa application fee.

Change Delivery Options

You may change your preferred document delivery address online or through the call center until midnight on the day of your interview appointment. There is no cost to change your delivery preferences.

Passport Tracking Options

Instant: Enter your passport number below to check on the status. If your passport is ready for pick-up, please bring supporting documents and collect it in a timely manner. If your passport is not collected within 10 business days it will be sent back to the Embassy or Consulate.

Email: Send an email to passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com and in the subject and/or body enter a valid passport number exactly as it was entered at the time the appointment was scheduled, and you will receive an automatic response with the status.

Collecting Your Passport/Visa

Starting from September 1, 2020 you can collect the passport from the following VFS Global or DHL document delivery locations. In order to view the full list of document delivery locations, please click here.

Appointment scheduling process

Please note that due to goverment advisory around COVID-19 pandemic, VFS Global Document Delivery Locations in Nur Sultan and Almaty can receive applicants only up on prior appointments. To make an appointment:

Step 1. Decide your preferred Document Delivery Location

Step 2. Draft an email with following details:

  • Name and Surname
  • UID number (optional)
  • Preferred Date and Time of Visit
  • City ( Please mention one city name- Nur Sultan or Almaty)
  • Step 3. Send the email to one of the following email addresses.

    AppVFSAL@vfsglobal.com – in case submitting application via VFS Office in Almaty

    AppVFSNS@vfsglobal.com - in case submitting application via VFS Office in Nur-Sultan

    Step 4. An autoreply shall be sent to you as the official confirmation of the appointment.

    Supporting Documents

    To collect your passport you must present your original (not a photocopy) government-issued photo ID. We recommend you also bring a printed copy of your appointment letter.

    If a representative is collecting your passport from the document collection office on your behalf - even in case of family members - the representative must present:

    • Their own original government-issued photo ID for identification
    • A photocopy of your government-issued photo ID
    • A letter of authority signed by you, authorizing your representative to collect your passport. The letter of authority must contain the following information:
      • Your representative's full name as shown on their government-issued photo ID
      • Your name

    If the applicant is under the age of 16, the following documents are required:

    • An original, signed letter of authority from either of the applicant's parents
    • A clear photocopy of the government-issued photo ID belonging to the parent who signed the applicant's letter of authority
    • The representative's original government-issued photo ID
      Note: In case of a group/family, a single letter of authority with the required information for each of the applicants will be accepted.
