Information for non-immigrant visa applicants residing outside of Panama about visa application process

Individuals who normally reside outside of Panama and are not citizens of Panama, may submit their application at the U.S. Embassy in Panama.

Applicants are not required to be a resident of Panama to apply for a visa, but they must select a non-residents category if they are presented with the choice. Foreign nationals who reside in Panama and can show their residence permit/long-term visa on the day of their interview should select resident. Foreign nationals who select Resident Appointment, but fail to present a residence permit/long-term visa on the day of their interview will not be interviewed.

The visa appointment wait time published on travel.state.gov does not represent the wait time for non-resident category.

Applicants who do not reside in Panama and are not citizens of tPanama, who wish that their passport would be collected by the third party, will need to make their own arrangements to have their passport collected by their representative - with a signed letter and scanned copy of your passport bio-page and an identification card of your representative.
