Visa operations across Russia were reduced following drastic cuts to our personnel by the Russian Federation in 2017 and the closure of U.S. Consulate St. Petersburg by the Russian Federation in March, 2018. Fewer people inevitably mean fewer staff to provide visa services.

Applicants may schedule interviews in Moscow, Yekaterinburg (Consular Services Suspended) or Vladivostok (Consular Services Suspended), through there may not be appointment availability for all visa categories in all locations. Applicants who reside in Russia may also apply at any U.S. embassy or consulate outside of Russia, and must pay the visa application fee (“MRV fee”) in the country where the visa interview takes place. Visa Processing Time

Although visa processing time is typically three working days, processing time for specific cases may vary due to individual circumstances and other special requirements.
