How to Apply
Step 1
Complete the Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application (DS-160) form.
Step 2
Pay your visa fee.
Step 3
Create a profile on this web page. After logging in to our online applicant system, select “Schedule Appointment”. Please proceed to answer the questions, which will evaluate your eligibility to apply for a visa without an interview. If qualified for an interview waiver, you will receive detailed instructions on how to submit your documents. As part of this multi-step process, you will be presented with options for paying the visa application fee.
You will need three pieces of information in order to register online:
- Passport details
- The receipt number
- Ten (10) digit barcode number from your DS-160 confirmation page (one page with a barcode)
Step 4
You should send the documents ONLY by registered courier service to the U.S. Embassy Tbilisi, Consular Section, 29 Georgian-American Friendship Avenue, Didi Dighomi, Tbilisi, 0131, Georgia. You need to provide:
- A copy of your Georgian residency card (for anyone submitting an application without a Georgian passport)
- The Interview Waiver Confirmation Letter (generated during online registration)
- Your valid passport (and your old passport if there is a valid U.S. visa of the same class you are applying for in it)
- The DS-160 confirmation page and other required documents (depending on the visa type you are applying for)
- For F and M visas: a signed I-20 and a current, unofficial transcript from your school
- For academic J visas (secondary and university students, professors, researchers, short-term program researchers or specialists): your original, signed DS-2019 form/li>
- For O and P visas: a copy of your petition

- For H1Bs: your approved petition (form I-129 or Form I-797)
- For non-blanket Ls: your approved petition (form I-129 or Form I-797)
You will receive the Interview Waiver Confirmation Letter if, based on your answers to the interview waiver eligibility questions at Step 7 of the online applicant system, it is determined that you are eligible for an interview waiver.
Step 5
Once we receive your application package, a consular official will make the final determination as to whether you qualify for visa issuance without a personal interview. Information regarding passport retrieval, at the conclusion of the visa adjudication process, can be found at this page.
