Passport/Visa Collection Locations

If your visa application is approved, your passport will be returned using one of the pick-up options that you selected during the appointment scheduling process. You may choose to have your documents delivered by one of the two options described below:

  • Collection from the Mail Boxes Etc office in Ã˜sterbrogade 226, st, 2100 Copenhagen - opening times Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6:00pm
  • Collection from the nearest daoSHOP parcelshop - your passport will be sent to the nearest parcelshop based of the home/business address that you provide in your profile. To locate the nearest daoSHOP parcelshop please access this link.

If you do not have a Danish address, please choose to collect the documents from Mail Box

Regardless of the chosen delivery method, you will be notified via e-mail and SMS as soon as the passport is ready for collection as well as about the details of the pick-up location. 
When picking-up the passport from the Mail Boxes Etc office you will be required to show a photo ID. When collecting the passport from daoSHOP you will be required to present the 5 digit code received via email and/or SMS, in addition to a photo ID.

If somebody else wants to pick-up the passport on your behalf, that person will have to present a photo ID and a written authorization as well as the 5 digit code received visa email/SMS (applicable to daoSHOP pick-ups).

You must collect your passport within 10 business days. After that, the passport will be returned to the Embassy/Consulate.


IIf you live in the Faroe Islands or Greenland you have the following three visa/passport delivery options:

  • You may include a private address in Denmark in your profile. The passport would be returned to the pick-up location associated with that address.
  • You may choose to collect your passports from Mail Boxes Etc office in Østerbrogade 226, st, 2100 Copenhagen.
  • You may provide a self-addressed envelope with your Faroese or Greenlandic address and 144 DKK in postage in order to have your passport sent via registered mail. Please bring the envelope and required postage to your visa appointment.

Change Delivery Options

You may change your preferred document delivery address online or through the call center until midnight before the day of your interview appointment. There is no cost to change your delivery preferences.

We strongly advise you not to change the pickup location after the time limit. Any changes to your desired pickup location after this time limit will lead to a delay in your passport delivery.

Check the Status of Your Visa

You can check the status of your application any time at this website: Please wait at least three business days following your visa interview to check on the status of your application. The system may not have updated the status of your application prior to that time, and thus the message you receive may not reflect the actual status of your application.

Besides the link indicated by daoSHOP, you have several options to choose from to track the location of your passport.

Instant: Enter your passport number below to check on the status.



If the status shows "Passport has been received from the Consular Section and is currently being processed for delivery", it means your passport was released by Embassy or Consulate and is on its way to the sorting facilities. It is however not available yet.

When the status shows "Out for Delivery" it means the passport is ready for pick-up from the daoSHOP.

The Embassy or the Consulate cannot help you regarding the status of your passport delivery. Please do not contact the Embassy or Consulate regarding the status of your passport delivery.

Email: Send an e-mail to and in the subject and/or body enter a valid passport number exactly as it was entered at the time the appointment was scheduled. Do not include any additional text. You will receive an automatic response with the status.
